Software Architect – Computational Imaging

We’re looking for an individual to contribute to our talented team of computational imaging software engineers as we prepare to bring DepthIQ™ – our passive, single-sensor depth platform – to market. This is a unique opportunity to apply your experience in computational imaging and computer vision across a wide variety of use cases that leverage imaging and depth data in markets spanning mobile, consumer, industrial and automotive.
Who are we and what do we do?
We have a passion for developing solutions at the intersection of 2D imaging and depth. AIRY3D has developed DepthIQ, a 3D computer vision platform that consists of a Transmissive Diffraction Mask and computational imaging software that can give any CMOS image sensor the ability to provide depth information.
What are we looking for?
To be successful in this role, you must bring computational imaging and multi-threaded software architecture experience in equal measure to apply research results to novel solutions showcasing the unique possibilities and advantages of DepthIQ. We’re looking for someone to mentor others, setting an example of “what good looks like” for the software design, development, and deployment process. And who is keen to roll up their sleeves and contribute wherever necessary.
What you will do:
The Core software team is responsible for maintaining and enhancing our processing pipeline architecture as well as porting our advanced image reconstruction and depth extraction algorithms. Responsibilities include optimizing and refining DepthIQ, maintaining the image and depth processing pipeline, and extending our SDK to support compelling proof-of-concept applications that highlight the capabilities and advantages of our approach.
What you bring to our team
- At least 5 years experience developing computational imaging solutions
preference will be given to candidates with proven experience with
software development in depth and computer vision solutions
technical background in image processing techniques such as image
filtering, feature extraction, image enhancement, and image
- Good experience with optimized and multi-threaded processing pipeline
- A Master's Degree in Computer Science specializing in image processing, computational photography, computer vision
- Experience with OpenCV, OpenCL, git, gtest, GitLab
- Expert in C++, Python, and object-oriented programming
to architectural considersations such as portability to embedded
devices, real-time performance and efficient memory usage is
- Experience with mobile camera applications
- Experience with industrial 3D applications
- Practical experience with deep learning approaches to computer vision / computational imaging
